Outreach Small Grant Award

My small grant proposal has been selected for an award of $1,000 through the UChicago Diversity Research and Small Grants Program. These funds will allow our medical physics outreach team to create a comprehensive set of hands-on teaching activities to utilize in outreach demonstrations for local Chicago Public School students. Thank you to the UChicago Office of Diversity & Inclusion for supporting the outreach mission of our graduate program in medical physics.

2nd place - AAPM MWC Young Investigator Symposium

I won second place in the Young Investigator Symposium at this year’s AAPM Midwest Chapter Meeting for my talk “Dual energy CT imaging with a megavoltage spectrum.” The meeting was a great opportunity to share research and learn from the excellent work being done by our medical physics colleagues near the Chicago area. I’m looking forward to next year.

Selected for 2023 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

I’ve been selected to receive a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship. My planned research will focus on quantitative phase-contrast x-ray computed tomography for soft tissue imaging. This fellowship will fund the next three years of my PhD research. I’m excited to continue my work in medical imaging.

Poster @ SPIE - MV-kV dual energy CT

I presented my work optimizing MV-kV dual energy CT imaging for tomographic therapy at SPIE Medical Imaging.
